The rules of the road.

These are the terms for using this website. They are not the terms for hiring us: those are the terms of business, and they come with a quote, in writing, specific to the job.

Who runs this site

Armada Films Ltd, a company in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. Anything on this page, email hello@armadafilms.com.

Using the site means you accept what is on this page. If you would rather not, then don't use it.

The films

This is the part that matters. Every film on this site took a crew, a schedule and somebody's budget. This is not a stock library and none of it is free to take.

Rights in the work vary. Some of these films are owned by the client who commissioned them and appear here with their permission. Some were shot as part of somebody else's production. Others are ours outright. You will not always be able to tell which is which from looking, so the safe assumption is that it belongs to someone.

You are welcome to:

• watch anything on the site
• link to a page, or share a link to a film
• quote a sentence or two of the writing, with a credit and a link

Please do not:

• download, rip or screen record the films
• re-upload them anywhere, in whole or in part
• recut them, or put any of the footage in your own reel
• use them in an advertisement or any commercial material
• use them, or the stills and writing here, as training data for a machine learning model
• present any of this work as your own

If you want to use something, ask. The answer is sometimes yes, and it is quicker than you would think.

Client names and logos

The brands named on this site are the trademarks of the companies that own them. They appear because we made something for those companies. They are not an endorsement of this website, and nothing we say here is said on their behalf.

What the site is not

Nothing here is a quote. The service pages describe the kind of work we take on. They do not set a price, and nothing on this site forms a contract between us. Work is agreed in writing, with a scope and a figure, before a camera comes out of the case.

The portfolio shows what has been made for other people. It is not a promise that your project will look like any of it, cost what any of it cost, or take as long.

Credits, dates and descriptions of past work are given in good faith and may not be complete. Productions have a lot of hands on them.

Sending us a brief

The form on the site sends an email. Treat it like one.

Don't put confidential material in it. If what you are planning is sensitive, say that much and nothing more, and we will agree a better way to talk before you send anything.

An enquiry does not create a contract, and it does not put either of us under a duty of confidence unless we have agreed one in writing.

If you send us an idea or a treatment we did not ask for, we cannot receive it in confidence. That is not us angling for your idea. It is that briefs for similar work come in all the time, and if a project like yours later comes through the door we would have no way of proving we had not already been thinking about it. Anyone who tells you otherwise has not thought it through.

Links to other places

The films play through Vimeo and YouTube, and there are links out to our social accounts. Those belong to other companies, with their own terms and their own way of handling data. We do not control them and we are not responsible for them. What this site itself does with information is set out on the privacy page.

Availability

We would like the site to be up all the time and correct in every detail. We cannot promise either. It may be unavailable while something is being fixed or changed, and we may alter or remove anything on it without saying so first.

Liability

So far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this website, from it being unavailable, or from anything you did on the strength of information on it. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of the Cayman Islands, and the courts of the Cayman Islands deal with any dispute arising out of them.

Changes to these terms

When these change we will update this page and change the date at the top. The version on the page is the one that applies.
